Hi Rachael, I so appreciate your blog!! My Mim is 81 with Alzheimer’s & in long time care for 3 years now. My question is for a friend—she is getting ready to move her mother to assisted living/memory care on Monday. She & her sister are planning to tell their Mom tomorrow. I don’t think that’s a good idea! When we moved my Mom we sent her to my brother’s on a Friday to spend the weekend, moved her things while she was away & then on Sunday he brought her right to memory care. Thoughts?

You are absolutely right, they should NOT tell her! I have a number of posts on how to move someone, but truly, send them a copy of my book. I walk you through every detail of making the move happy, safe, and less painful for everyone!
