My husband has been in a lock down unit 15 bed facility for 7 months. I’m questioning moving him to another faculty in another state closer to children for more support as he is not allowing staff to assist him and it relies solely on me. I’m needing support with his care. I want to know if moving an Alzheimer patient to new surroundings is appropriate. Thank you

It is appropriate, although I don’t recommend it unless it’s necessary, and it sounds necessary! It’s okay to move someone when they need to be moved. It may take him a little bit of time to adjust, and that’s okay. Or, maybe it won’t take any time at all!
