My 85 year old mother is in a care center that has recently recommended we place her in a memory care facility. She has had dementia for several years but recently began getting more agitated and harder redirect. She can get very stubborn and has pushed an aid once. Does this stage last long? Could she calm down and become easier to redirect or will she more than likely stay in this agitated in and out again stage?
It really depends on each person. I would definitely take their suggestion and move her into memory care–she doesn’t sound like she is thriving in
